Cape Rock Festival

An unmissable annual event, the aim of which is to establish one of the most relevant music festivals of the opera season. The Cap Rocat Festival brings together every year great figures of opera and classical music such as the great Sondra Radvanovsky or the Menorcan baritone Simón Orfila, all of them alongside the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Pablo Mielgo.

The artistic director of the Cap Rocat Festival is Ilias Tzempetonidis, who has a long career as artistic director at La Scala in Milan, the Paris Opera and currently at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.

Next edition : July 31, August 1 and 2, 2026

Charity concerts

Last March 26, 2025 we organized a solidarity concert by the Cor Festival Cap Rocat in the Parish of Santa Creu de Palma, for the benefit of the ELA Balearic Association. Under the title “Spirituality in the Opera”, the choir, directed by Joan Company and accompanied on piano by Jesús López, will perform works by Verdi, Massenet, Puccini and Mascagni, fusing music and solidarity in a unique evening.

The funds raised will help improve the quality of life of people affected by ALS in the Balearic Islands, offering them essential support. In addition, the event gives visibility to local musical talent and the commitment of the Cor Festival Cap Rocat. Tickets are available from 30 euros and a row 0 has been enabled for those who want to collaborate without attending.

This concert is a great opportunity to enjoy good music in an exceptional environment and, at the same time, contribute to an important cause.

Publications

The Madina Mayurqa Foundation published a book that compiles an extraordinary photographic collection from the early 20th century. It is a collection with more than 1200 positive glass plates from the Vignetti-Obrador collection. An album that pays tribute to Fanny Obrador (1896-1955), nonconformist, adventurer and fighter for freedom and justice. This historic collection of photographs invites us to travel back in time to witness her travels and her perspective of both the world and her island, at the beginning of the 20th century.

Heritage

The Foundation is currently studying several projects for the preservation and promotion of Mallorcan heritage.

Bells of Biniaraix

The Foundation has financed the reactivation of the church bell of Biniaraix , thus giving voice to one of the most recognizable symbols of this enclave in the Serra de Tramuntana , declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO . Thanks to this intervention, the bells will ring again from October 2025, recovering not only their liturgical function, but also their role as part of the town's sound and emotional identity, a link with the neighborhoods, with its traditions and its heritage.

Restoration of mills

The recovery of a traditional mill highlights an essential element of the Mallorcan cultural landscape. These buildings, which for centuries were used to grind grain or extract water for irrigation, are part of the vernacular memory of the island. Their restoration not only preserves a historical structure, but also reclaims the knowledge and ways of life linked to the territory.

Frescoes from Can Vivot

Supporting the conservation and restoration of the frescoes of the Palau de Can Vivot contributes to safeguarding a valuable example of Palma's architectural heritage. This action allows for the preservation of both the artistic richness of its mural paintings and the historical and architectural value of the complex, ensuring the transmission of this cultural legacy to future generations.
